Archaeology and Other Programs
From May through October, Q Ranch offers various archaeology-related programs, lasting from a few days to two weeks. Past programs have included scientific illustration workshops, prehistoric pottery restoration, pueblo stabilization and excavation, and archaeological mapping and surveying. In another popular workshop, led by Tucson potter Andy Ward, participants collect local clay, then make, glaze and fire pots as the original natives would have. Led by professionals, these programs are meant to educate both experts, students and amateurs. Novices are welcome. Scoutmasters, please inquire about camping, community service, merit badge and Eagle Project opportunities.
